Cobee, a Madrid-based benefits management platform, is expanding into the UK to support companies at a time when employee satisfaction is one of the most pressing challenges. The company has developed Cobee Lite, a new gift card product that is completely free and accessible to companies of any type and size. The Cobee Lite app is free to download and offer to employees in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal from today.
The expansion comes at a time when companies are expanding their remote working policies, sometimes permanently. New working practices require new forms of engagement with employees who might only rarely see each other face-to-face for the foreseeable future, and Cobee is well placed to meet that need.

“COVID-19 is going to leave us with a new working reality marked by notable changes, not only in the way we work, but also in the relationship between a company and its employees. All this will lead to a new stage in employee benefit plans, with a clear trend towards digitization, and at Cobee we have wanted to anticipate the new needs and brought in a product that will allow companies to offer their teams exclusive promotions in a wide variety of services dedicated to improving their wellbeing,” explains Borja Aranguren, the Company’s CEO and co-founder.
The new Cobee Lite gift cards app offers a platform of premium products and services in areas such as home meal delivery, physical and mental well-being, professional training, culture and family entertainment. The free perks will not only save employees money during the economic downturn, but will also improve their overall motivation and happiness, which is of direct benefit to their employers as well.
To access the Cobee Lite program, interested companies need only apply for a membership and register as a beneficiary of the programme. Doing so is free of charge and without any commitment. Employers can then immediately register all employees through the original Cobee app (available for iOS and Android), giving them access to all the savings cards, promotions and an overview of the savings generated at any time.
“Employees from brands like Booking, Gympass, Avis Budget Group, Altran, Glovo and Tripadvisor already use the product and benefit from it. The range of perks and allowances is extensive and designed with their needs and preferences in mind”, says Aranguren.
Currently, there are multiple, premium brands offered through the program. Zalando, Primark, Nike, Ikea, Mango, and Media Markt offer financial perks for purchases made in online and physical stores, while Petit Bambou and LinkedIn Learning offer companies exclusive perks and special promotions for employees.
“Glovo´s employees love Cobee! Thanks to the digitisation of flexible remuneration, we have achieved 73% penetration in only one month.” says Garazi Marqués, People Operations Manager at Glovo
The new Cobee Lite app will add new perks and discounts weekly, which will be available to 100% of employees at no cost for the company. The new addition to Cobee’s premium service perfectly complements the benefits management platform, which has already proven to be an all-around asset for companies and employees.
About Cobee: Cobee is the first European digital platform that allows management of employee benefits in a simple, effective, fully automated way. With Cobee, organisations have a simple system to offer different benefits and products to their employees (meals, transport, nursery, medical insurance, etc.). All this is without having to manage different providers and without major administrative tasks. On their part, the employees are empowered to control and manage their compensation and benefits in a highly flexible, comfortable manner through their Smartphones. The startup, founded in 2018, was the winner of the BBVA Open Talent 2019 global competition, and of the CNP Start 2019 programme by CNP Partners.
