You Can Now Use GPT-4 Turbo On The Free Version Of Copilot

GPT-4 Turbo is OpenAI’s latest model and it was designed to extend and streamline the use of Microsoft’s Copilot features. This model has its improved capabilities, with more accurate answers given and a broader knowledge base than the model before, GPT-4.

According to Microsoft, this model “has been trained on data up to April 2023 and can handle text-to-speech prompts, and its context window can accept 128,000 tokens” . This increased token limit lets you provide more context, so that you can get a more relevant and precise outcome.

Before, access to these advanced features was limited to Copilot Pro users who paid $20 per month. Now, Microsoft is offering GPT-4 Turbo free of charge for all Copilot users. This is seen as a way to make AI more accessible, where more users can benefit from the latest advancements without financial barriers.

Mikhail Parakhin, Microsoft’s advertising and web services CEO, spoke about this change, saying, “For free users of Copilot in Creative mode, GPT-4 Turbo is now powering that experience” .

Why Is Microsoft Offering GPT-4 Turbo For free?

Microsoft offering GPT-4 Turbo for free to all users now adjusts their business model. Simon Batt, a tech analyst, suggests that this decision could be linked to rumors of an upcoming GPT-4.5 Turbo model, which may soon be introduced. Usually when making the older model free, it may indicate the introduction of a newer, more advanced version.

This is an industry trend where tech companies continuously update their services to retain and attract users.

How Does GPT-4 Turbo Enhance User Experience?

GPT-4 Turbo really improves user experience by offering more accurate and contextually relevant responses. This is especially useful in applications like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, where users rely on AI to streamline tasks and enhance productivity.

The integration of GPT-4 Turbo into free Copilot services also extends these enhanced capabilities to a wider audience. Users can now select between Creative and Precise modes to tailor the AI’s output to their specific needs, whether they require more imaginative responses or more detailed and accurate information.

This flexibility empowers users to harness the full potential of AI to meet their unique requirements, thereby boosting their productivity and creativity.
