Private psychology and psychotherapy clinic, My Therapy Assistant, launches their first digital services on 19 April 2021. MTA’s mission is to connect users with qualified psychologists & psychotherapists for online and in-person sessions, utilising self-improvement tools to guide the journey. This client-centric platform increases the ability of individuals to access quality mental health care & wellbeing anytime, anywhere.
My Therapy Assistant is the brainchild of chartered clinical psychologist Dr Kate Robinson and management consultant Mirsad Mustovic. They teamed up to build a service “that we would be happy to recommend to our friends and loved ones, with confidence that they would be able to find a high quality practitioner who would be able to help them.”

MTA’s platform focuses on quality, flexibility, and transparency. MTA’s desktop and mobile software apps give users secure access from any device, and appointments can be conducted as chats, video calls, or in-person meetings. People can schedule sessions for 30, 50, or 80 minutes and engage with evidence-based therapies directly suited to their needs at transparent prices (£55-£165). Currently supported therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), and psychodynamic psychotherapy for both self-pay and insured patients. This platform focuses on user experience by offering self-improvement tools such as goal setting and tracking, note writing, and questionnaires to encourage an active dialogue between client and clinician.
The founding team developed this platform to “remove as many barriers as possible, making it flexible and convenient without compromising on effectiveness.” MTA arrives at a critical time, with the British Medical Association reporting 79% of individuals expressing a decline in mental health since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and 22% of patients having experienced limited access to care or cancelled appointments in that same time. MTA aims to help as many people as possible, providing access to the right therapy at the right time.
