New Updates To Google’s Find My Device For Android

Erik Kay, VP of Engineering, speaks on the ambition behind this rollout: “With the new Find My Device, our aim is to reduce the panic of losing your phone, tablet, or keys to an absolute minimum, using the power of the Android community.”

Key Features

Offline Device Location: Users can locate compatible Android devices on a map or ring them, even when offline. Pixel 8 devices add another layer of reassurance, being locatable even if powered off.

Bluetooth Tags for Daily Items: Starting May, items like keys and luggage can be tracked using Bluetooth tags compatible with Find My Device, such as those from Chipolo and Pebblebee.

Home Integration and Shared Monitoring: The app’s integration with Nest devices and the ability to share accessory tracking within a family or group exemplify how technology is making communal living more harmonious.
