Recruitment startup TalentPool raises a further £1 million to take its candidate-matching technology to the public sector and beyond

The team behind talent-matching platform TalentPool has secured a further £1 million to develop their advanced candidate-matching and talent pool technology into bespoke software solutions to help public and private sector employers streamline their recruitment processes.

The investment round for Alvius – the new Software as a Service (SaaS) division of TalentPool – was led by Joe Saumarez Smith, an original investor in TalentPool and a well-known investor in early-stage disruptive technology companies.

The funds will be used to grow Alvius which promises to help recruiters build the talent platforms of tomorrow. By automating key processes like application filtering, and using the latest data science techniques to match candidates to suitable roles, Alvius can streamline the recruitment process, bringing employers huge time and cost savings.

Andrew Lavelle, co-founder of TalentPool and Alvius MD, said of the new Alvius venture: “We have seen with TalentPool how technology can take the pain out of hiring. Now employers can use our software to create their own talent platforms, replacing slow and inefficient sourcing and selection processes and matching great talent with current opportunities in a fraction of the time.”

Following a competitive tendering process, Alvius has been selected as an official supplier of talent pool software to the UK public sector.

With recruitment heavyweights Richard Boggis-Rolfe, Chair of British executive search firm Odgers Berndtson, and Belinda Brooke, former Legal Director of both Michael Page and Morgan Hunt, taking on advisory roles, and Stephen Warrington, former Group Strategy Director at Barclays, joining as Chair, Alvius will have a steady hand to help it shake up the recruitment industry.
