ROWBOTS, The London Fitness Startup Backed By Gareth Bale, To Open Next Week

A new fitness startup, ROWBOTS, is set to launch in London next week. The gym class has been described as ‘the most results oriented workout’ using conditioning, pelvic floor exercises and the most effective machine in the gym, the rower.

The new venture is backed by Real Madrid star Gareth Bale and includes Chief Executive Sam Green, triathlete Greg Zimmerman and football agent Jonathan Barnett.

The gym covers 1800 square feet on Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia, and will be covering around 40 classes per week, 22 people per class and charged at £22 per session.

Longer term, the brand may look to expand into other parts of the capital.

Rowbots’ chief brand and design officer Sarah Mannerings said: “We use the rower at the centre of what we do physically, but also paired with some innovative mindfulness and motivational techniques to target both the mind and body.”

Casey Phillips at property agent Shelley Sandzer, which advised Rowbots on the letting, said: “Despite economic uncertainty, there appears to be no shortage of demand from fitness companies wanting to open in central London.”
