Virtway recently announced raising €4m in funding to launch in the UK. The expansion will be the company’s first outside of its home country; Spain.

Founded in 2014, Virtway is the world’s largest 3D virtual world conferencing platform. The company was founded by Spanish entrepreneur Jose Antonio Tejedor and now provides an immersive platform for online 3D virtual experiences like conferences, fairs and training sessions.

The platform allows customers to choose their own avatar, and present, talk and network with each other in real time. Virtway simulates the feeling of direct contact, creating a more engaging experience than a webinar or conference call.

Virtway lets organisers create events beyond the limits of the real world. Companies can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of events by reducing travel and events organisers can host attendee from all over the world without them ever having to leave their home country. Virtway offers a greener and more cost-effective way to host events. Additionally, the detailed data insights on audience participation that Virtway provides helps companies to better plan for future events.

Virtway can be accessed through computers and though iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s accessibility means event organisers can connect people from all over the world more easily than ever.

Jose Antonio Tejedor, founder and CEO said: “This investment will be a great boost to what we hope will be a successful expansion in the UK following increased demand from English speaking countries. It’s a really exciting time for the company with a huge amount of interest in the product from companies and universities.

“We have an exciting and unparalleled product and are constantly working to improve the UX. The funding will be used to further improve the product and increase our footprint outside of Spain. It has come at a great time and we are looking forward to the next stage of our journey.”
