The team behind the UK’s leading website for licensed-linked courses, Get Licensed, today announces the launch of Get Licensed Driving School (“GDLS”) and an online series hosted by car customisation king, Yanni Charalambous, to find the perfect learner car.
GDLS is a platform connecting learner drivers with reputable and good quality instructors. With driving lessons now costing less than a guitar lesson, the market has become oversaturated with instructors, however it still lacks transparency due to the absence of any tool that can help prospective drivers find and book lessons based on genuine reviews and pass rates.
In effort to increase industry standards, and minimise the recent horror stories that have recently emerged about untrustworthy instructors, GDLS is hoping to combat this by presenting all the information a user would need including pricing, locations and changes. The platform will handpick the best instructors with a high pass rate, and they will undertake strict quality and DDS checks ahead of getting approved by GLDS.
Co-founded with car customization king, and the star of the hit TV series “Yanni Supercar Customizer”, Yanni Charalambous, GLDS is aiming to improve every step of getting a driving license for learners.
Along with Yanni, GDLS will soon be launching an online series on the Yiannimize YouTube channel, which will find the perfect learner car that will eventually become the official learner car for GDLS. The series will be broadcast to Yanni’s 1.3m subscribers, and will involve recognisable learner drivers, including 2018 Love Island’s Alexandra Cane, Radio 1 Extra DJ Sideman, and many more. Following the series, those they have helped learn to drive will spend one day putting a number of cars through their paces to determine the winner.
Founded by security guard-turned-entrepreneur, Shahzad Ali, GDLS has already attracted over 2,800 registered driving instructors since its launch at the beginning of 2019. Ali has already been at the helm of one successful business; founding and running the UK’s largest website for licensed-linked courses; Get Licensed. In just over 10 years, the platform reached a turnover of over £25 million, and attracted over 200,000 customers.
The Company also today announces a funding round on leading European investment platform Seedrs. Proceeds from the raise will be used to develop the product further to facilitate online bookings and onboard at least 100 new instructors.
