Business: A legal tech solution that provides digital in-house legal advice for businesses.
Founded in 2018, Swedish company PocketLaw enables companies to create contracts and solve legal challenges instantly and at an affordable fixed price. Childhood friends and Co-founders, Olga Beck-Friis and Kira Unger are passionate about preventing fellow startups from avoiding legal obligations and overspending on legal advice.
With lawyers often working to hourly rate pricing models, there is little incentive for innovation and efficiency in the sector. This in turn means that the legal industry follows outmoded traditions of manual work that could be easily automated.

PocketLaw acts as a digital in-house lawyer for businesses of any size, and enables them to solve their day-to-day legal challenges themselves, through digital legal guidance and contract automation. PocketLaw already helps thousands of small and mid-sized companies in Sweden, including prominent tech scale-ups such as telehealth pioneer Livi, e-scooter company Voi, and London’s Kingly Court restaurant Le Bab on its British pilot. Backed by some of Sweden’s most prominent investors including Cristina Stenbeck (former Executive Chairman at Kinnevik), PocketLaw opened an office in London in 2021.
A challenge for PocketLaw has been balancing their championing of legal tech innovation without being perceived as promoting the total automation of the legal sector. PocketLaw’s ideal view of legal technology is that it helps and complements the legal sector, rather than replaces lawyers entirely, and by looking at tech solutions through this lens PocketLaw believes that the industry as a whole will be improved and streamlined. PocketLaw now has 34 full-time employees and a C-suite made up of former senior employees from tech unicorns such as Spotify, Slack, Google, Zalando, and Klarna, and top law firms such as Hogan Lovells, Mannheimer Swartling, and Vinge.
