- Alex Warner is the Co-Founder and CEO of Winventory, a platform that simplifies season ticket resale by automating pricing, listing and delivery across major marketplaces.
- Inspired by his own challenges as a season ticket holder, Alex turned a personal workaround into a scalable solution just as digital ticketing and fan behavior shifted post-pandemic.
- He measures success by daily progress and user satisfaction, driven by the belief that building something valuable from scratch is its own reward.
Tell Me About Yourself and Winventoy
Winventory is the solution to the season ticket resale problem. As a lifelong season ticket holder, I faced the same challenge: I had 41 games, planned to attend 15-25, and was left asking – what do I do with the rest? We built this app to answer that question.
Winventory streamlines season ticket resale from start to finish. Our users simply tap “sell” on a game, and the app takes care of the rest: it prices the tickets, lists them across every major resale marketplace (plus thousands of smaller distribution points), and automatically delivers them to the buyer once sold. The result? No work, all reward for our users.
What Inspired You To Start Winventory? What Problem Were You Trying To Solve?
I noticed the season ticket landscape was changing rapidly. Prices were climbing, availability was higher than ever, and new marketplaces and apps were flooding the space. Coming out of the pandemic, the industry had fully shifted to digital ticketing, and many season ticket holders saw their seats temporarily relocated or even reduced due to capacity restrictions. It was a messy time – and I realized it was the perfect opportunity to turn what I’d been doing for myself for years into a valuable offering for others, and to scale it.

What Has Been Your Biggest Challenge So Far? How Did You Overcome It?
Scale. We knew we needed firm proof of concept before dedicating resources to growth. In the beginning, we were operating in as analog a fashion as you can imagine. But within just four months, we grew from 2 users to nearly 40 – and had to work backwards to accommodate that demand. What started as a simple, bare-bones web app evolved into a fully integrated platform with both mobile and web applications. With the launch of our new apps, we were able to overcome our early scale challenges and position ourselves for growth.
Can You Describe A Pivotal Moment That Significantly Shaped the Direction of Winventory?
While I am not sure if it shaped the direction, I will never forget the first time a user signed up that we could not connect ourselves or an existing user to. The first ice cold user. It didn’t change any plans, it was just a very encouraging moment. A real confidence boost.
How Do You Define Success?
For Your Business: Satisfied, returning customers who are willing to put their names on the line and refer friends.
As a Founder: Each new day that I get to work on this is a success. There is nothing more motivating than knowing you are where you are because of your own effort.
What Advice Would You Give To Someone Thinking About Launching Their Own Startup?
If you have something that you believe in, give it a shot. Nobody will ever fault you for trying.

1. Favourite Business Tool?
My iPhone.
2. One Lesson You Learned the Hard Way?
Way too many to count!
3. One Future Trend You’re Watching?
I could tell you, but…
4. One Quote You Live By?
For years, my personal Instagram account bio has said “we’ll make great pets,” which is a quote from the 1993 song “Pets.” I always took it as a lighthearted way of saying nothing is for granted, so make the most of what you have. But I am not entirely sure that’s what Perry Farrell was going for. But hey, interpretation is in the eye of the beholder.
5. One Book or Podcast You Recommend?
On the sports theme, I recently read “The Wax Pack”, written by a guy who opened a 30-year-old pack of baseball cards and attempted to track down the 10 guys who were on the cards in the pack. What follows is basically the story of life and how fleeting our experiences are. Not exactly “War and Peace”, but I think we can glean a little wisdom from anyone.
