Established in London in 2004, Keren’s Nursery has become a leading nursery for children in London and comprises a chain of three Ofsted outstanding nurseries in prestigious London locations. The branches care for children from 10 months to rising 5 years. Teaching staff work in partnership with parents to support every element of children’s development. The business is a realisation of a dream, the owners’ ambition to create a unique place where children are cared for in a warm, loving and safe environment.
Who is The Team Behind This Outstanding Nursery?
Keren and Assaf Ben Ezra are the founders and directors of Keren’s Nursery. Keren has a degree in Early Years Childhood Education and heads the education side of the nursery as well as the staff training and development programme. Assaf is a qualified solicitor, and heads the business and operational side of the nurseries. The husband-and-wife team are supported by devoted and professional nursery managers and deputy managers in each of the branches. In turn, these managers hand-select the very best teaching staff, who are enjoy a programme of continuous training and development.
What Made You Start a Nursery as a Business?
We wanted to create a nursery that felt like home, almost an extended family, a place we wanted our own children to attend. We believe it’s a privilege to be able to care for and educate young children, and it’s hugely rewarding to see our pupils flourish and develop.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge in Expanding This Exciting Business?
Keren’s Nursery has always been extremely over-subscribed and finding vacant properties to expand into are very hard to find. We really don’t like telling our parents we don’t have a place for their child. So, our advice is always to book places as early as possible to secure a place for your child.
What is Your Greatest Achievement in Business to Date?
We are very proud that all three nurseries have been rated as outstanding by Ofsted. This provides for a validation of the passionate and professional work we do each and every day. We couldn’t be more proud of all our teaching teams for this achievement.
What are Your Plans for the Future?
We continually seek to be at the forefront of pre-school education. We constantly fine-tune our curriculum and monitor and improve levels of care, so that we can be sure we always offer the very best nursery setting. We will continue to do this whilst we look for more locations so we can increase the number of places on offer.
