This week we caught up with Edmond Hanassab of MagicVision, a thriving electronics business which has recently launched on online strategy. The founder spoke to TechRound to tell us about the history of the business, the challenges and plans for growth.
What does your business do? Why was it started?
MagicVision was originally established in 1979 as a supplier of high end main brand consumer electronics products from the UK. We enjoy an excellent relationship with all manufacturers as we buy all our goods directly and come with full manufacturer’s warranty
Magic Vision is a family run business and always has been. We have been active in this industry before entering the UK market, helping and learning how business was done at our father’s import, export and distribution of telecommunication products company, registered as Telephone Teknik back in 1955.
We operate from our own building in the heart of the City of London’s financial district and also offers a retail front for shoppers t
o see the items before they order or to buy in store if they prefer.
Magic Vision holds large stocks in various warehouses across the UK to ship fast and on time. In case of any shortages due to excessive demand you will be made aware as soon as possible
The Magicvision retail brand was started over a year ago and was started to offer consumers the best electronics and latest products for the most competitive prices on the market!
Challenges & successes
The biggest challenge has been competing with other major retailers on Google shopping as budget is everything even if you have the better prices! Biggest success to date is being able to compete with other retailers on Google shopping, after spending a low budget on advertising achieving high number of sales over a 12 month period. We are in the middle of being qualified to become a Google trusted store.
Growth plans & where will we be in 5 years
We aim to be able to provide more and more products in the future with completive pricing as well as a great service to our customers. We aim to utilize our shop front and invite our customers to our City of London store based next to Old Street roundabout in EC1 to check out all the latest new technology to purchase and advise.
