Urban Jungle is a fully digital insurance company for a new generation of customers. They use technology and data science to make it much easier for our customers to get access to better suited, better value, easier to understand home insurance.
Urban Jungle crafts fair home insurance policies for what their customers need and stand against the bad habits of the incumbents like price walking, hidden fees and interest charges.
Their products can be purchased quickly and managed entirely online, making it easy for digitally native, busy young people to take care of their insurance, and get on with their lives.
In 2016, the founders looked around at the insurance industry and saw that it was shockingly outdated. No embrace of technology. And no empathy for real-world situations – like how more people are renting for longer, and with more flatmates.
Urban Jungle Insurance started with renters contents insurance, an area that, despite accounting for 40% of UK households, is traditionally viewed as ‘hard to serve’ and where one third of households are uninsured, leaving a vast number of people unable to cope with the financial shocks that life can throw at them.
Since launching their own label products in February in 2019, they have increased their revenue ten-fold.
Then, in 2021 they launched their very own homeowners insurance product, offering the UK fast, fair home insurance. To date Urban Jungle has helped more than 65,000 UK customers, many of whom have become advocates – with over 2,000 5 star reviews on Trustpilot,
Having raised an $11.4 million Series A round earlier in 2021, Urban Jungle is looking to scale the UK home insurance to help even more customers and starting to look to their next markets and products.
