About ANNA Money
ANNA Money began its journey in 2018 with a simple goal. The founders, Eduard Panteleev and Boris Diakonov, moved to London the year before and saw how many small businesses struggled with financial admin. They had already built several successful digital banking ventures together, and they recognised an opportunity to create a service that removed stress and complexity for small business owners. With the first round of investment secured, ANNA launched as a mobile business account and card designed to help entrepreneurs manage day to day business needs from a phone.
From these early beginnings, ANNA has grown into a fully featured platform that allows users to run almost every aspect of their business in one place. The service now handles business accounts, invoicing, payroll, taxes and regular admin tasks, all with an aim to save time and reduce the pressure that often builds around financial management.
ANNA has now supported more than 100k UK small businesses and freelancers, becoming a leading presence in AI powered tax services for this sector. As the UK continues to move towards Making Tax Digital requirements, the demand for simple, smart tax SAAS tools is rising quickly. This shift has turned the tax tech space into one of the most competitive and sought after areas in fintech, and ANNA is strongly positioned as a first mover.
One of the major challenges ANNA has faced is scaling rapidly while maintaining very high levels of customer satisfaction. Growth has been strong, with revenue more than tripling over the past two years, yet the company has preserved the outstanding customer service standards that helped build its reputation.
A key factor in achieving this has been the deep use of AI across the platform. Dozens of AI models handle a large portion of repetitive financial tasks behind the scenes. In May 2025, almost nine out of ten customer enquiries were answered automatically by the AI system, covering around 120k requests. This allowed the human customer support team to focus on more complex cases and maintain response times of under a minute.
The impact of ANNA on business financial admin has been significant. Automation rates continue to increase. In 2024, more than half of all VAT reports filed through the platform were completed automatically, with many of the remainder requiring only a small number of checks. Corporation tax filing has also become far easier for users, with AI handling the majority of submissions without any human involvement. This level of automation reduces cost, stress and hours spent buried in admin, an issue that has long held back small business productivity.
ANNA has also expanded beyond the UK. In early 2024 the company acquired GetCape, a Sydney based fintech offering corporate expense management tools, and has since launched ANNA business accounts with embedded admin and tax services in Australia. This marks the next phase of growth as ANNA works toward supporting businesses worldwide.
From a simple mobile account in 2018 to a global platform powered by advanced AI, ANNA continues to shape the future of small business finance. The goal remains clear: to deliver a service that acts like an accountant in your pocket, becoming smarter, faster and more helpful as technology and tax systems evolve.
