About LYMA Life Ltd
Founded in 2018, LYMA is a WellTech™ pioneer fusing the worlds of wellness and technology. Working with a team of leading surgeons, scientists, and geneticists to engineer groundbreaking health, wellbeing, and skincare products. In just six years, LYMA has transformed from a kitchen table startup into a global brand worth over £150M.
LYMA was born from founder Lucy Goff’s personal health journey. After battling septicemia following childbirth, unable to recover with conventional treatments, she met Professor Paul Clayton, a world authority on preventative degenerative disease. He showed Lucy that many of the supplements sold today aren’t formulated to deliver benefits beyond that of a healthy, balanced diet. This seemed morally and ethically miles away from what she had been led to believe but also explained why nothing had worked. Professor Clayton prescribed Lucy a new protocol using peer-reviewed, patented ingredients. These were each dosed at active levels, had a rigorous sourcing procedure, and were formulated in a way that the body could actually absorb them. Within just a matter of weeks she felt like herself again. Within months she felt better than ever.
This experience became the impetus of LYMA, and the LYMA Supplement, using the same rigorous process to create a powerful, bioavailable, high-grade, nutraceutical with 10 proven ingredients that revolutionised the supplement category. The LYMA Laser – the brand’s high-tech, powerful at-home skincare device – launched in 2020 cementing its position as a leader in innovation, becoming the first device of its kind to be FDA-cleared for use at-home in 2022. The LYMA Laser harnesses the power of cold near-infrared low-level laser technology with a 500mW laser beam that delivers clinic-grade results without causing any pain, damage or downtime. This product has garnered LYMA an impressive list of celebrity and expert fans and accolades including a Fast Company’s Most Innovative Beauty Company and a listing in Time Magazine’s world best invention 2023.
LYMA has seen further innovation with the launch of LYMA Skincare, a Serum and Cream duo that amassed a 30,000-strong waitlist and the LYMA Laser PRO, a triple-strength version of its star creation.
LYMA’s journey has not been without its challenges, first and foremost was securing initial investment. Many investment companies rejected the idea of LYMA, citing the premium price point as a barrier. As a result, Lucy made the decision to self-fund LYMA independently. Despite these setbacks, the company launched successfully and sold out within two weeks.
Creating unique, boundary pushing products brings the challenge of communicating a new proposition in crowded, well-established markets. With supplements, brands are hindered by outdated legislation; with laser, the complexities of educating about the differences between its technology and other cheaper modalities / devices. In launching the LYMA Laser in the US, the team also navigated significant regulatory hurdles, requiring nearly two years to gain FDA clearance, as nothing like it had been cleared before.
Testament to LYMA’s commitment to evidence-based, scientifically proven products that deliver guaranteed results, it now operates in 70 countries, has a loyal customer base and has been awarded countless accolades including Fast Company’s Most Innovative Beauty Companies, B Corp certification, King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade, The Sunday Times 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in Britain 2023, and FT1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies.
