About Agreena

Agreena unlocks credible and scalable climate impact powered by Europe’s largest and growing regenerative farmer network and verified field level data. Founded in Denmark in 2018, the company set out to solve one of Europe’s biggest climate and food system challenges: how to help farmers transition to regenerative agriculture while giving corporates the trusted data they need to meet climate goals.

The shift to regenerative farming has long been held back by three persistent barriers:

Farmers operate on thin margins and carry the risk of upfront investment without guaranteed returns.

They face uncertainty around changing long standing practices and concerns about potential yield impacts.

At the same time, corporates and financial actors lack verified data to quantify the benefits of regenerative agriculture at scale.

Agreena was created to bridge these gaps and make regenerative agriculture both economically viable for farmers and credible for sustainability reporting.

Since launch, Agreena has built Europe’s largest soil carbon and regenerative farming program, partnering with 2,300+ farmers across 4.5 million hectares in 20 countries. The AgreenaCarbon program is the first large-scale agricultural cropland initiative verified under the Verra standard, recognising the integrity and durability of its climate outcomes.

The model is intentionally farmer first. Producers stay in control of their outcomes and can receive up to 85% of the revenue generated from credit sales. Since founding, more than €15 million has been distributed to farmers, with payments typically ranging from €20 to €100 per hectare per year depending on practices and results. Recent program results show an average of 0.6 to 0.8 tons of CO2e removed per hectare per year across participating fields, and the program has maintained a 95% farmer retention rate.

Reaching this scale required overcoming major challenges. Agreena had to build trust in a new category, develop a science based methodology aligned with international standards, and create technology capable of monitoring and quantifying regenerative practice changes across millions of hectares. Its digital measurement, reporting and verification (dMRV) system brings together farmer reported data, satellite monitoring, soil sampling and advanced modelling to provide verified outcomes that corporates can rely on.

Companies like Mars Petcare, Radisson Hotel Group, and Ryanair have worked with Agreena to access high integrity climate outcomes that meet a range of needs, from carbon credit purchases to demonstrating verified Scope 3 progress. These partnerships enable corporates to strengthen supply chain resilience while directing finance to farmers on the ground.

To further support farmers, Agreena launched AgreenaGro, a digital platform that helps farmers future proof their farms by measuring their environmental impact, accessing insights to improve performance and connecting to finance. It addresses the core barriers farmers face with practical guidance, benchmarking tools and new income opportunities, all while keeping farmers in control of their transition. AgreenaGro also includes Agatha, an AI based assistant in beta mode that offers real time, localised insights to support everyday decision making.

Today Agreena stands as a leading European climate tech company proving that regenerative agriculture can deliver measurable climate impact.
