About WAC

WAC is the #1 app for hourly-paid workers who want to take charge of their work life and finances.

With years of experience working in hospitality, Founder and CEO, Georgina Fairhall, encountered the same problem in every job – she wasn’t getting paid correctly. Hours would frequently be missed, breaks wouldn’t happen, and she was routinely expected to work beyond her finish time to ‘support’ the team.

Rather than complaining, George decided to become part of the solution by founding WAC.

With 340,000+ downloads, their vision is to be the global solution on every hourly-paid workers’ phone. Revolutionising how they approach work-life and pay, ensuring every minute of work is compensated, and empowering workers to break free from financial uncertainty and feel good about money.

Fairhall launched WAC in 2020, one week before a national lockdown, after stepping away from a potential law career to champion low-paid workers.

Raising £1m in angel investment as a non-technical and sole female founder – making her the highest-risk investment. Despite ongoing challenges, George’s resistance has secured funding and propelled WAC to a revenue-generating scale-up.

In April 2024 she introduced the business’ first revenue stream achieving an ARR of just under £100k within 3 months with ambitions of turning over £18m in year three.

WAC has become the go-to solution for all individuals in hourly paid work, and more than just another tracking app due to its relationship with its customers. The first step has been to make the app educational to empower workers to take control of their working lives. From their employee rights to understanding tax, their contracts and holiday pay, and approaching their employers if they have been underpaid.

Dale, a WAC user and Maintenance Engineer from Yorkshire had been underpaid over £1,200 across two paydays: “I’d notice the underpayment after clocking my hours with WAC and realised it didn’t match my wage slip. This meant I had to juggle my bills around and left myself short till I got it back in my next paycheck through WAC.” he admits.

With a consistent approach to customer service, they boast a 4.8-star rating on the app stores across 5k reviews. One user has branded the app an ‘absolute life saver’ as they ‘never used to track hours until I started to have hours deducted without my knowledge.’ Another stated ‘WAC is the best app for people like me, who have part-time jobs and no idea how much they are earning at the end of the month!’

Keeping hourly-paid workers at the heart of decision-making they’re supporting people in over 136 countries. These workers are often taken for granted by both customers and management, are most at risk of financial insecurity, and are least able to take a stand against work-related abuse.

WAC is helping to change that by ending payday guessing and placing control back into the hands of employees.
