About GreenFlip

Amandeep and Thomas met at the Carbon13 Venture Builder in 2024 and founded GreenFlip over a shared frustration at the barriers to retrofitting homes. CEO Amandeep is an architect who led a retrofit strategy for 30k homes but recognised that there was a gap in the market for effective data and tools to identify investors. CTO Thomas retrofitted his own home after his energy company quoted him an annual bill of £11000, and Thomas tried to convince the rest of his street to do the same!

GreenFlip is a climate-tech company focused on making housing decarbonisation investable at scale. Globally, the world needs to decarbonise around 130 million homes a year to stay on track for net zero. The UK, with 29 million homes, must increase its rate sevenfold to reach roughly 2 million homes a year at peak – but current progress sits at just 1% across all regions.

Our platform uses AI to analyse homes in seconds; modelling heat loss, energy demand and solar potential to build robust retrofit business cases with more than 80% accuracy. We aggregate these into investable portfolios for institutional investors, landlords and housing associations. By turning fragmented housing stock into scalable opportunities, we enable zero carbon, zero bill retrofits that benefit households, investors and the energy system. Our activities combine advanced data modelling, investment analysis and partnerships with energy providers to accelerate the UK’s transition to a decentralised energy producing and digitally connected net zero housing market.

Why now? The UK government is consulting on increasing minimum EPC standards for rental properties, with a long-term goal of achieving EPC Band C by 2030 for private rented homes in England and Wales, and exploring new ways to reform the EPC system by 2026. The current minimum standard is EPC Band E, but the proposed changes aim to raise this to C, impacting new tenancies from 2028 and existing tenancies from 2030. Housing Associations, Landlords and Property Investors need to act now to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and avoid fines.

We have heard from potential customers that sourcing appropriate retrofit potential buildings with a commercial return is currently a manual and time consuming process:

It took us months to complete one retrofit. To scale to 20,000 Victorian homes, we need digital tools to accelerate the process: CEO of Future Fit Homes

One property investor told us they were manually analysing 750 homes for every one they acquired and decarbonised, but GreenFlip can build this analysis in a fraction of the time, at scale.

Investors don’t want 100 points of risk across 100 properties, they want a clean, de-risked package. What we need is a wrapper that turns 100 small homes into an institutional-grade asset: Investment Director, Octopus Real Estate

GreenFlip’s platform will allow investors to de-risk their investments, increase their ROI and future-proof their assets while ensuring comfort and wellbeing for their tenants.

Our mission is to reduce 10M tonnes of CO2e a year at scale and alleviate 250k UK households out of fuel poverty.
