About Namrata Sandhu
Namrata Sandhu is the Founder and CEO of Vaayu, a climate tech company that helps the retail industry measure and reduce its carbon and environmental impact with automated, science-based software. After a 20-year sustainability career spanning Arcadia Group, Zalando and roles connected to the UN Forum on Forests and KPMG, Namrata identified a critical gap for retail companies: brands were trying to reduce impact without access to timely, product-level data they could trust. She founded Vaayu to put impact at the heart of decision-making, so sustainability can become operational and measurable, democratizing a long-term, scalable solution to this problem.
Under Namrata’s leadership, Vaayu has grown into a global team and a platform used by over 100 partners across the entire retail ecosystem, including brands, marketplaces and fintech leaders. Vaayu’s technology and AI enable everything from corporate footprinting to product-level LCAs, circularity measurement to customer-facing transparency tools such as digital product passports. Vaayu has worked with companies including Klarna, Axel Arigato, Triumph, Asket, Missoma and On to support hundreds of millions of product-level calculations, helping to bring climate information to consumers worldwide.
At the end of 2025, Namrata also led the launch of Vaayu’s 2.0 platform, which transforms carbon and environmental impact data into clearer, export-ready dashboards and deep dives, enabling teams to move faster from measurement to action. It brings together corporate and product-level insights with drill-down analytics, reporting views, features like scenario-modeling and target-tracking, and workflow tools that help brands spot hotspots, track progress and stay audit-ready. This upgraded platform realizes Namrata’s vision to make impact data easier to understand, trust and use across product, supply chain and sustainability teams.
Namrata has been recognized internationally. She previously won the Reuters Sustainability Trailblazer Award, was listed in TechRound’s Top BAME 50 Under 50 Entrepreneurs and was named among EU Startups’ Most Influential Women in the Startup and Venture Capital Space. She is also a regular speaker and commentator on climate tech and retail transformation, with appearances and features including Bloomberg and coverage in leading industry publications.
