About Tifenn Dano Kwan

I started my marketing journey in the early 2000s and quickly found a passion for the technology industry. The most pivotal moment in my career was when I applied for my very first CMO position. It was a significant moment because I was not ready for the role, but I was asked to apply, which felt like a huge risk. I decided to go for it, and one of the biggest lessons I learned was that, when presented with an opportunity like this, it’s less about what you’ve accomplished and more about what you represent. People wanted me for the role because of my ability to create meaningful connections across diverse teams, and the organisation needed a leader who could build those bridges.

Throughout my previous CMO roles at Collibra and Dropbox I unified marketing strategies around customer impact and orchestrated data-centric transformations. Through this work, I found my strength in orchestrating teams and streamlining processes, particularly within fast-scaling organisations where I’ve successfully united teams of 50-60 professionals across various functions into cohesive units.

In my time at Amplitude, I’ve led collaborative efforts between our product, sales, and marketing teams to help spearhead growth. A significant milestone was our recent launch of Guides and Surveys, which transforms how companies connect with their users through more intelligent, contextual in-product guidance. What’s been particularly rewarding is seeing how our customers are using this technology in ways we hadn’t even anticipated, creating more meaningful interactions with their own users. The project has been especially satisfying as it emerged off the back of our recent acquisition of Command AI, showing how we can successfully blend new technologies into our platform while staying true to our mission of helping companies build better digital experiences.

As I look forward, myself and my team are driven by a clear vision: making Amplitude an essential platform for modern marketing teams everywhere. The marketing landscape has transformed dramatically, with digital experiences and products now at the heart of every strategy. We’re not just adapting to this change – we’re helping shape it, and I see myself as part of that mission. Our focus is on building something truly revolutionary that reflects how marketing has evolved over the past two decades. I’m particularly energised by our direction because it speaks to the future of marketing itself – where data-driven insights and digital experiences converge. This vision, combined with the experiences that have brought me here, makes me confident we’re not just participating in the future of marketing – we’re actively building it.
