About Adriana Rivas
I am COO at BIGWISE Corp and creator of Biwitech, a retail technology platform that integrated AI-powered POS and inventory systems across 240 stores in four countries within five months. What drives me is solving the problem that traditional retailers face when legacy infrastructure cannot keep up with customer needs.
I created Biwitech because I watched mid-market retailers struggle with fragmented technology. Most retail solutions are assembled from separate hardware and software providers, creating integration nightmares. Biwitech was designed differently: hardware and software were built together from day one and natively integrated with the Stellar ecosystem. This gives retailers a complete 360-degree solution without the compatibility issues that come from juggling multiple vendors.
Within five months, we deployed across grocery and retail chains in the United States and Latin America. We integrated 240 point-of-sale systems, deployed over 1,100 SmartTags, and saved store managers an average of 25 hours weekly. We achieved 75 percent POS adoption in two months by designing for how stores actually operate, not how tech companies think they should.
The barriers I faced were the same most women in hardware and retail tech face. Investors assume software scales faster than hardware. They assume retail is low-margin and low-innovation. They assume a woman from Latin America building physical technology for traditional stores is not where the future lives. I proved otherwise.
Biwitech now operates in four countries. We have real traction, real revenue, and real impact on store operations. Our clients are not early adopters chasing trends. They are family-owned grocery chains, mid-market retailers, and regional operators who needed enterprise capabilities at accessible price points. When we integrate, their teams do not need retraining. The system learns its language, not the other way around.
The recognition followed the work. I was named Bronze Winner at the WomenTech Global Awards 2025, featured in AP News, and recognised as one of WomenTech Network’s Mentors Who Drive Success. I serve as a Global Ambassador for WomenTech Network and founded the Women in Retail Tech Circle because women navigating this sector lacked a dedicated space to connect and learn from one another. I wrote a book that reached number one in the Hot New Releases because I wanted to make technology leadership accessible to women who did not see themselves reflected in the industry.
The impact on the industry is not about disruption. It is about access. Retail technology should not be the exclusive domain of the largest chains. Mid-market stores deserve the same tools, intelligence, and ability to compete. Biwitech makes that possible.
Our growth plan is straightforward: 500 stores by the fourth quarter of 2026, focusing on grocery chains where AI-powered inventory and conversational POS systems can transform customer experience without requiring a complete infrastructure overhaul. We are building partnerships with mid-market retailers across North America and Latin America who need what the big players have been hoarding.
I am not waiting for permission to build the future of retail technology. I am building it now.
