About Narwhal Labs
Narwhal Labs is a Bristol-based AI scaleup founded in 2022 by Luke Sartain (CEO). It was created to solve a problem most organisations have quietly accepted as standard: missed calls, delayed responses, abandoned enquiries, and communication systems that stop working as soon as teams go offline. The result is lost revenue, slower operations and customers disappearing before anyone responds.
To tackle this, Narwhal Labs has raised over £20 million in private investment from UK investors, including Jonathan Swann, former director of CFC Underwriting, to build DeepBlue OS, an autonomous communications platform designed to replace fragmented, human-led response models with always-on agentic AI. The platform manages the full lifecycle of communications – across inbound and outbound, from first contact through to qualified outcome, ensuring every customer enquiry is handled continuously 24/7.
Today, DeepBlue OS is onboarding 500 SMB clients across estate agency, vehicle leasing, recruitment, investment and government sectors, alongside a further 55,000 SMBs contracted through a white-label partnership. At full deployment, it’s projected to process over 1.2 million customer interactions per month.
The challenge: fragmented, human-led response models
Most organisations still rely on human availability rather than customer demand. These delays have become normalised across industries, despite their impact on revenue, efficiency, and conversion. Outside working hours, calls go unanswered and opportunities are lost between interest and response. In regulated sectors, these delays also create operational and compliance risk.
The solution
Narwhal Labs developed DeepBlue OS to enable consistent, scalable response without disconnected systems or manual handovers.
Three core agents power the platform:
- Inbound agent: Handles enquiries, calls, qualifies contacts, and appointment booking 24/7
- Lead and case responder: Triggers instant multi-channel follow-up from inbound events including form submissions and document requests
- Outbound agent: Runs high-volume calling and messaging campaigns to progress workflows and re-engage contacts at scale
Across deployments, the platform generates qualified leads at under £3 per enquiry.
DeepBlue OS supports over 50 languages and is multi-jurisdictional by design, enabling deployment across markets or regions without rebuilding systems. It can handle 20,000 simultaneous outbound calls for enterprise clients and also run inbound workflows for smaller professional services teams.
Built around a Glass Box Architecture, every action is logged, traceable, and reviewable. As one of the only UK agentic platforms to hold ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications, it is suitable for highly regulated environments. Narwhal Labs challenges how enterprise software is deployed, replacing long implementation cycles and high upfront costs with a usage based pricing model, enabling rapid deployment on certified infrastructure.
Customer impact
Organisations are using DeepBlue OS to reduce the operational delays that sit between demand and response. In recruitment, the outbound agent re-engages passive candidates at scale, reducing manual effort across high-volume pipelines. This is further demonstrated in an automotive finance network processing 2,000 enquiries per month across eight dealerships, enabling a 55% improvement in consultation efficiency.
Rather than treating customer communication as a collection of tools and channels, Narwhal Labs positions DeepBlue OS as a single system designed to operate continuously at scale.
