About Luna AI
Luna AI was founded in 2026 to make AI powered education more accessible for blind and low vision students, while building a platform with the potential to scale far beyond accessibility.
Most education technology is still designed around screens, apps, text boxes and visual navigation. For blind and low vision students, that can create unnecessary barriers to learning independently. Luna AI was built to remove that friction by making voice the primary interface.
Students can simply call Luna from a phone and begin learning through natural conversation. They can ask questions, study for exams, review concepts, practice languages and receive explanations without needing to navigate a visual interface.
Teachers, schools, nonprofits and organisations can also upload study guides, lecture transcripts and educational materials. Luna turns that content into interactive voice based study sessions that students can access through a phone call.
While Luna was built with blind and low vision students at the centre, the use case is much larger. The same screen free experience can support college students studying while commuting, language students practicing conversation, adult education programs, workforce training, schools, nonprofits and anyone who wants to learn without being tied to a screen.
Since launch, Luna AI has reached thousands of users across more than 70 countries and developed partnerships and collaborations with organisations supporting blind and low vision communities, including Blind SA, Vision Aid, Braille Institute and Double Tap. Luna was also selected from 2,226 submissions in the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026.
Within the SaaS ecosystem, Luna AI represents a different approach to accessibility and scale. We believe products designed around accessibility can create better experiences for everyone.
By starting with the needs of blind and low vision students, Luna has developed a simple voice first model that can scale across education, language learning, workforce development and lifelong learning around the world.
