About PsyberCog Labs
PsyberCog Labs was founded in 2025 by Dr. Dustin Sachs to address a cybersecurity blind spot: a security control can be technically sound yet fail in practice when the surrounding workflows, incentives, information, and pressures make it difficult to use.
We are a cybersecurity and behavioral risk company creating the category of Decision Ecosystem Optimization. Our premise is that human cyber risk is often a systems-design problem. Knowing the safe action does not guarantee that someone has the time, tools, authority, or support to take it. Sustainable improvement requires changing the conditions shaping the decision.
Our approach connects behavioral science, cybersecurity, and organizational decision-making to help security and risk leaders determine why unsafe decisions occur, what to change first, and how to assess whether those changes work. Training remains valuable when knowledge or skills are the problem. Other conditions require changes to workflows, technology, accountability, or governance.
One of our biggest challenges has been translating this broad systems perspective into a focused, practical offering. We began addressing it through PsyberCog PATH, a structured ecosystem connecting rapid risk identification, deeper decision assessment, targeted interventions and tools, and partner-supported implementation.
We have evolved into a patent-pending SaaS platform called Decision Lighthouse to make this approach more accessible and repeatable. The aim is to connect existing security team assessment findings with prioritized action, decision support, and follow-through, giving organizations a practical route from understanding risk to changing the conditions producing it.
A second challenge has been building a scalable alternative to engagements that depend on repeated, intensive consultant involvement. Our model combines web-based guided assessments, technology-enabled analysis, our own targeted expertise, and partner-supported delivery. We prioritize the existing customer tools so organizations can act on findings within their working environments.
Our early industry contribution is a practical framework for connecting human cyber risk to the conditions organizations can change. Through the Cybr.Minded podcast and wider industry dialogue, we are bringing cybersecurity practitioners, researchers, and behavioral science perspectives together around that challenge.
Our progress has earned external recognition. In 2026, PsyberCog Labs graduated from Founder Institute Silicon Valley as the top company in the Spring cohort, was selected for the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200, and by the time this application is reviewed we will have been named to the CRN 2026 Stellar Startups – Security list.
PsyberCog Labs brings a distinctive proposition to cybersecurity: make the environment for safer decisions part of the security strategy. We are building toward a future in which specialized expertise is more accessible, recommendations lead to practical change, and success is judged by improved security outcomes.
