The Purpose Workshop is a social impact enterprise, helping individuals, businesses and students navigate a sense of personal purpose. Drawing on practices from existential therapy, we help clients craft their own values, mission and sense of meaning – through practical, actionable workshops.

How did you come up with the idea for the company?
The Purpose Workshop grew out of my own journey towards a meaningful life! I started my career in corporate law, but was also searching for a deeper sense of purpose. I spent a year in a monastic community in 2017, and later trained as an existential therapist.
The Purpose Workshop is a practical application of some of the tools and teachings I’ve learned so far.

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
When The Purpose Workshop began, our focus was primarily on individual clients – a consultancy model. Now, we have online, on-demand workshops for individuals to access, but we mainly focus our group work on students (both school and university level), businesses and social enterprises.
This kind of expansion enables us to scale our work to reach a larger audience.
What can we hope to see from The Purpose Workshop in the future?
We’re hoping to expand into more in-person events, as well as collaborating with others in the educational / existential space!
On a personal level, I have a new book out in March 2023 (called ‘But Are You Alive?’, published by Hachette) – which explores ideas of meaning and purpose in more depth – and I’ll be hoping to bring this work into The Purpose Workshop.
