About iChoosr

Everyone can contribute to the green energy transition and iChoosr is here to help. We enable large-scale adoption of renewable energy sources by simplifying decision-making and reducing costs through group-buying schemes, aiming to empower households to adopt two million sustainable energy installations by 2035. By enabling access to solar panels, battery storage, EV chargers and heat pumps, we boost society’s energy self-sufficiency.

Founded in 2008, we analyse human behaviour to build digital platforms that help people make well-informed purchasing decisions. By connecting motivated customers to qualified energy suppliers and installers, we drive scale, efficiency and impact.

Globally, more than 11 million households have joined our schemes so far, including:

Solar Together is a group-buying scheme that enables households and businesses to purchase solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with optional battery storage and EV charge points at a competitive price. Partnering with local authorities, the scheme leverages collective buying power to negotiate better rates from trusted solar panel providers. This helps make solar energy more accessible and affordable and, in the UK, supports the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. So far, more than 200 schemes have been delivered in partnership with local authorities in five countries. In the UK, 400,000 solar panels have been installed, equaling 30,000 tonnes of avoided CO2 per year. From 2022-2024, Solar Together was responsible for ~10% of MCS-certified (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) domestic solar panel installations in England – the independent certification scheme that certifies microgeneration (renewable energy) products and installers.

Big Community Switch is a collective energy switching scheme to save money on energy bills, creating benefits for consumers and energy suppliers, while growing the number of households with renewable electricity supply contracts. Working with local authorities, Big Community Switch provides guidance and support to simplify the energy-switching process. Through our UK auctions, over 300,000 households have switched providers – making a collective saving of more than £48M and 63,000 tonnes of carbon. Participating residents can benefit from competitive renewable electricity tariffs and save on annual energy bills. With continuing uncertainty in the market, the scheme provides a practical solution to ease financial burdens by securing competitive deals with trusted suppliers, giving people more control over their costs. Switching suppliers can be a challenging task and the initiative ensures a hassle-free process. Suppliers compete for the opportunity to offer the lowest tariff, and there’s no need to compare as everyone registered receives a personal offer.

The Switch Together heat pump scheme offers access to professional and competitively priced heat pump installations from reputable and trusted installers. The group-buying initiative simplifies the switch to air source heat pumps, making them more accessible and giving access to exclusive pricing, with additional help and support provided. According to the Energy Saving Trust, air source heat pumps can cut carbon emissions by 44% per year, with efficiency ratings typically reaching 300%. Air source heat pumps deliver highly efficient heating and hot water and, by transitioning, residents can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and contribute towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly community, while saving money on energy bills.
