About DarkTrace

DarkTrace is a cybersecurity company aiming to prevent advances spear-phishing and business email compromise. The company uses AI which fully understands organisations, detecting the most complex of email threats including targeted impersonation attacks and social engineering alongside potential supply-chain threats and any human-factor vulnerabilities.

DarkTrace was founded by a group of mathematicians from the University of Cambridge in 2013 and spearheaded by Poppy Gustafsson, which now has over 1,500 employees and is still headquartered in Cambridge. The business was also the first cybersecurity company to develop an AI system.

Invoke Capital seed-funded DarkTrace and the company played a big role in assisting the founders as the business was starting out. Other investors have included Samsung Ventures, TenEleven Ventures, Insight Venture Partners, Vitruvian and KKR alongside security experts with backgrounds in government intelligence.

All founders and investors appear united with the goal of fundamentally transforming the ability of organisations to defend all critical assets as cyber-threats become more common.

DarkTrace boasts pioneering technology, with their Enterprise Immune System applying AI to the cyber defence challenge in order to detect any potential cyber threats.
