About Chargebee

Chargebee is a global leader in billing and monetisation, powering some of the world’s fastest-growing SaaS and AI-native companies. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in North Bethesda, MD, USA, Chargebee supports more than 6,500 organisations, processing recurring revenue at scale across 100+ currencies and 227 countries.

As AI reshapes how software is built, sold, and consumed, monetisation — how to price, package, and articulate the value your products bring to customers — has become one of the most complex challenges for high-growth companies today. AI products generate high-volume, variable usage and require real-time decisions around access, pricing, and billing accuracy, all without interrupting the user experience. Chargebee sits at the centre of this shift, providing the billing and monetisation infrastructure for the AI economy.

Gartner ranked Chargebee as a Leader in the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Recurring Billing Applications and placed it furthest for Completeness of Vision among evaluated vendors. This recognition reflects how deeply Chargebee has invested in innovation and how effectively its platform helps global enterprises modernise and scale their financial operations.

Over the past year, Chargebee has strengthened its market position through new AI-driven monetisation and payments capabilities, including:
• Support for high volumes of daily product usage events: companies can track, meter, and invoice for high volumes of usage events at rates up to 200K events per second.
• Predictive churn and expansion workflows, which use AI to pinpoint at-risk customers and trigger preventative retention and proactive upsell plays.
• AI-powered cancel offers, which reduce customer attrition and strengthen loyalty with relevant offers.

As a billing and monetisation leader, fintech innovation is central to Chargebee’s strategy. The acquisition of Inai in September 2025 expanded its capabilities into smart payment routing, gateway-level analytics, and intelligent retry logic, augmenting built-in capabilities with extensive data enrichment and machine learning.

In April 2026, the company introduced Chargebee Growth, a monetisation and experimentation layer that allows organisations to run experiments against granular audiences, triggered by usage and monetisation signals. Built on two types of data — one state-aware and one predictive — Chargebee Growth determines which offer to present to which user and delivers those at the exact moment they are most likely to convert. Chargebee Growth enables companies to distinguish between higher-risk and lower-risk users at moments like the point of cancellation, and tailor interventions accordingly. This approach has enabled one customer to record a 20% improvement in churn deflection rates.

With these innovations, Chargebee seamlessly supports usage- and subscription-based pricing across the entire revenue lifecycle, from customer acquisition, quoting, growth, invoicing and collections, to customer retention and payment optimisation, all the way through to tax, compliance, and revenue recognition.

As Ryan Roccon, CFO of Zapier explains, “As agentic AI reshapes how customers use Zapier, Chargebee has let us simplify pricing to a subscription plus pay-as-you-go model, run rapid experiments, and stand up flexible enterprise contracts without tying up engineering. That blend of customer transparency and operational agility across finance, product, and sales is exactly what we need to support our scale.
