Pedalcover was founded in 2014 as Home + Bike, and has since gone from strength to strength.
The 12-strong team has its company headquarters in the Vale of Glamorgan, and was founded by former professional cyclist Darren Thomas, who at the time was struggling to find adequate insurance cover.
Historically, home insurers were reluctant to provide cover for multiple sports bikes or single bikes with a high value. It was also difficult to secure cover for anyone wanting to take part in time trials or triathlons. After consulting with a large range of cyclists, triathletes and mountain bikers, Thomas was able to design a flexible insurance policy for people passionate about cycling.
Pedalcover offers cover for all bikes, combining the insurance into one manageable policy instead of multiple ones.
Pedalcover Plus, which is the core product of the company, is underwritten by AXA exclusively.
Pedalcover also offers additional insurance packages which can be bought separately or combined within a policy to include travel insurance, healthcare and event insurance. Perfect for anyone participating in cycling events at home or abroad.
Pedalcover has had award-winning success in the past, the founder receiving Great British Entrepreneur of the Year 2015.
Having now insured over £50 million worth of bikes, Pedalcover now aims to grow and create new products to suit biking enthusiasts.
