Tell us about OSAA Innovation.

OSAA Innovation is a Danish medtech company moving the needle in infusion therapy when it comes to mobility-focused connected devices. By combining user-focused approach and smart mechanical engineering, OSAA Innovation aims to empower healthcare professionals with user-friendly products to improve patients’ healthcare journeys and enhance the treatment results.

OSAA Innovation’s novelty product iV-GO® World’s First Portable 100% Mechanical IV Pump was released in 2022. iV-GO is a lightweight and portable 100% mechanical device that allows patients to be mobile during IV treatments. It has garnered international attention as the company has won a variety of awards, including the Danish Design Award (2021), Red Dot Design (2022), Good Design (2023), Australian Good Design (2024) and German Design Awards (2025)

Since the introduction of the award-winning iV-GO®, the company has expanded to a suite of products, including connected iV2GO® and iV2Vita® with IoT monitoring, smart sensors and dashboard software, and the iV4GO®Pro and iV4Vita®Pro — an advanced infusion rate monitor and regulator designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of intravenous therapy.

The newest add-on to OSAA Innovation’s product ecosystem is iV-Warmer® for transfusions that can help prevent hypothermia and improve patient comfort during IV therapy.

How did you come up with the idea for the company?

Throughout my youth, I experienced the Danish healthcare system firsthand, since I was a long-term patient. It shaped my understanding of patient needs. So to say, the inspiration for the company’s novelty product iV-GO® infusion pump essentially came during one of my hospitalizations where I saw a young girl playing outside while her mother struggled to carry her IV bag. Frustrated by the limitations imposed on patients by traditional IV bags and poles, I sought to create a solution.

In 2009, merging my passions for design, engineering, technology, and business, I got a visionary idea that would change the landscape of IV treatments. I created the first prototype of iV-GO® – a lightweight and portable 100% mechanical device that stands out for its unique feature – it allows patients to be mobile during treatments. Since then recognizing the challenges faced by patients, nurses and doctors, I kept working on this concept which laid the groundwork for the establishment of OSAA Innovation in 2016.

Stepping further, the OSAA Innovation team has been dedicated to creating solutions that empower and destigmatize patients undergoing IV treatments. With the help of smart IV solutions within the OSAA Innovation’s ecosystem, we are committed to building a future in healthcare where patients can maintain their dignity and experience the unparalleled patient-centered care, while the industry can focus on enhancing the patients’ results and avoid the unnecessary financial burdens associated with traditional IV delivery systems.

Tell us about your core product or service?

From emergency rooms, to operating rooms and patient rooms, intravenous (IV) therapy is a cornerstone of modern healthcare, playing a vital role in the effective administration of fluids, medications, and nutrients directly into patients’ bloodstream. With approximately 90% of hospital in-patients receiving IV treatment, “redefining” infusion therapy to bring an innovative solution forward is vital.

Hospitals worldwide need infusion systems that are intuitive, interconnected and provide safety measures throughout the infusion process—improving clinical workflows, enhancing patients outcomes and reducing the burden on medical personnel, who can spend more time on patient-focused activities instead.

Saying that, at OSAA Innovation, our commitment is twofold: we develop IV solutions that enhance patient safety while empowering clinicians to deliver the highest quality of care. This dual focus ultimately contributes to a more sustainable healthcare system for everyone.

OSAA Innovation product ecosystem is a comprehensive and interconnected network of cutting-edge medical devices designed to enhance clinical workflows, and improve healthcare outcomes for patients.

The ecosystem features 2 distinct product series:

The GO-series – This series includes mechanical pressure pumps that empower patients with increased mobility during IV treatment. Designed for flexibility, the GO-series eliminates the need for gravity or IV poles, allowing patients to move freely while receiving care.

The VITA-series – the VITA-series includes lightweight infusion monitors and infusion pumps that provide unprecedented real-time monitoring capabilities, both on the device and remotely. With each generation, the VITA-series enhances user experience and clinical effectiveness, ensuring that healthcare providers can deliver precise and timely treatment.

At the core of the OSAA Innovation’s IV ecosystem is iV-View® solution, a remote-monitoring system that enables hospital staff to track all connected OSAA IV devices allocated across the different wards and monitor several patients’ infusion statuses from a single station.

The newest add-on to OSAA Innovation’s product ecosystem is iV-Warmer for transfusions that can help prevent hypothermia and improve patient comfort during IV therapy.

I also would like to mention that while working on our IV solutions we at OSAA Innovation are actively introducing the intuitive design practices into the product development stage, which allows us to produce infusion therapy solutions that help to facilitate precise and safe operations for medical personnel.

So to say, following the recent positive feedback which we received from the nurses and clinicians towards the design of the our products interface, while demonstrating our equipment during the Medical Fair Asia and our visit to the UAE and KSA, with our newer product generations we aiming to have a user-friendly interface with predominantly icons to avoid confusion from too much text on the screen.

What most excites you about the infusion therapy industry?

At OSAA Innovation we consider connectivity as one of the biggest exciting drivers when it comes to the development of the infusion therapy industry itself and as well the catalyzers for the product innovation when it comes to our own ecosystem.

With the appearance of connectivity the value of medical devices has been redefined, now incorporating the critical ability to provide clinicians with patient-level data and real-time information on treatment status. Being able to quantify, contextualise and communicate these interactions allows the medtech industry to provide solutions that deliver value to all health care stakeholders.

Currently, OSAA Innovation’s ecosystem expanded to a suite of connected products, including connected iV2GO® and iV2Vita® with IoT monitoring, smart sensors and dashboard software, and the iV4GO and iV4Vita — an advanced volumetric infusion pump designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of intravenous therapy.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome along the way?

Usually, small and medium sized companies (SME) are born to solve a specific problem. It is usually in a market sector that has not been served, or the customer need which has not been fulfilled yet. Catering to a specific customer need is beneficial for the SME, because all resources can be focused on one target group. The same time being able to evaluate the broader markets can significantly enlarge the customer group for SME, bring a bigger business perspective and introduce you to the new opportunities.

Since OSAA Innovation is operating in the industry of infusion therapy which serves 90% of in-patients, there are many different healthcare areas that we can potentially address and therefore choosing the right patient group, specific hospital ward or clinic and in general the right healthcare setting where our solutions can bring the most of impact for patients and clinicians, can be quiet challenging.

Although a focus on a single group was a preferred scenario for us since we entered the market, we have always been aware of not limiting ourselves within the frames of a very niche market and therefore try to cater to a broader patient group to make sure we can deliver solutions which are versatile and adaptable to different settings and patients’ needs.

Launching into larger markets is a puzzle, but this is the only way for the companies who would like to create sustainable solutions with the long-standing impact.

What is your number one piece of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?

Get involved (in the field) and learn from people’s experiences. Being genuinely curious is something that will help you to change the way you are as well as change the world around you.

Also be open to other people’s experience and thoughts. The power of feedback is immense and it can only create the positive drive for improvement – no matter whether we are speaking about “changing the world”, running a groundbreaking project or working in a start-up over a product that can improve people’s lives.

What can we hope to see from OSAA Innovation in the future?

Speaking of the future there are several directions where we see OSAA Innovation will make a difference and create the impact.

Every project and product we develop is driven by a passion to make a real difference and improve patient outcomes. Therefore as a part of our future we see us continuously focusing on improving the quality of life of the patients and finding new ways to redesign the workflow of the nurses. Central to our process is a robust commitment to user-centered design, ensuring that every device is developed with the user at the core and that this approach will continue to be part of our DNA. As a part of our process we also actively seek user feedback through extensive field research, interviews with clinicians and patients, and real-world insights. This ensures our innovations are rooted in clinical reality, fostering solutions that truly matter and drive meaningful change now and in the future.

Moving forward we will also strategically leverage our extensive pipeline of upcoming technologies and device developments to advance and facilitate continuous improvement in IV therapy. This is what you will see both in the design of our new IV solutions as well as in the way our technology will streamline the healthcare process when it comes to the delivery of IV treatment.

Additionally, we will continue to innovate and open doors to new opportunities and new markets. Market expansion is one of key milestones for OSAA Innovation. Today the company is actively present in Scandinavian markets, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Poland, creating a strong distribution network and meeting the needs of the patients and healthcare institutions in different regions.

Having more markets in mind, in 2026 we will be working in a close collaboration with our strategic partners to evaluate the other market’s needs and challenges, investigate the healthcare opportunities and to enhance our industry presence and outreach even further.
