Verifymy is a safety technology provider with a vision to safeguard children and society online. Spanning age assurance, identity verification, content moderation and consent management, Verifymy creates frictionless, trustworthy solutions for online platforms to maintain their integrity, protect their reputation and safeguard their users.
How did you come up with the idea for the company? And what makes VerifyMy unique?
Ryan Shaw, Verifymy’s founder and CEO, was seeking an age verification solution for his previous business but couldn’t find any fit for purpose. Typically, they were too expensive, difficult to integrate with, or lacked empathy for both the business integrating with it and the end users who would be required to interact with it.
This led him to found Verifymy and launch its age assurance solution – VerifyMyAge – streamlining the age verification process for adults and preventing children from accessing age-restricted content, products, or services.
Verifymy has subsequently evolved into a broader online safeguarding technology provider, with a focus on age assurance, identity verification, content moderation and consent management solutions – a unique suite of solutions unmatched by any other provider.

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
Since being founded in 2019, Verifymy’s solutions have evolved at pace in response to the fast-changing online and regulatory environment, including the EU’s Digital Services Act and the UK’s Online Safety Act.
Their latest, ground-breaking proprietary age assurance solution leverages just an email address to estimate a user’s age. This frictionless, highly accurate, privacy-preserving method performs without discernible bias and is certified by the Age Check Certification Scheme to EAL level 3, the highest possible level for age estimation.
Additionally, building on its age assurance solution, Verifymy has broadened its focus to tackle the ever-growing issue of illicit content online. This industry-leading proprietary tech is the driving force behind Verifymy’s second product – VerifyMyContent – which incorporates identity verification, AI and human content moderation, complaints resolution and consent management and is designed to prevent illegal content from being uploaded onto user-generated content platforms.
What can we hope to see from VerifyMy in the future?
The global trend is towards increased online safety regulation, with a focus on protecting minors and eliminating harmful content.
Over the coming years, Verifymy will continue to innovate and build frictionless tech to support online platforms in their efforts to comply with local and global regulations and help to keep children safe online.
