Tell us about Riverbed
Delivering better user experiences is getting harder. Organisations are deploying more complex IT estates, wide-spread hybrid working is placing new pressures on technology and users have much higher expectations. That’s a challenging set of factors before we even consider the impact of tightening budgets and staff and skills shortages.
Riverbed’s technology has been developed to address these challenges. To give those who manage IT estates the tools to deliver better user experiences, while also driving IT efficiencies so staff can spend more time focusing on strategic initiatives.
Our unified observability and AIOps solutions provide IT managers a clear oversight of all devices, networks, deployment models and applications to resolve issues faster, prioritise or automate actions, boost productivity and ultimately deliver an improved digital experience.

What do you think makes this company unique?
One of our unique factors is our broad experience. Riverbed has been around for more than two decades, and we have a distinct focus on collecting the broadest set of data across IT, and then leveraging AI and Machine Learning to improve IT operations and deliver better user experiences.
Our new AI-powered Riverbed platform is the foundation of our portfolio of specialised unified observability, digital experience and application acceleration tools. Additionally, we recently enhanced our full stack observability solutions where we are able to see application and device behaviour, network performance, as well as mobile performance, and pinpoint and remediate issues using our AI techniques developed over the last 15 years. Furthermore, we help organisations overcome blind spots created by increase mobile use, hybrid working, transition to public cloud and the implementation of zero trust architectures.
Collecting data from across the entire IT landscape – including supporting a wider variety of third-party applications – IT managers can control entire aspects of their estate with our platform, tying all the information together and making analysis and decision-making seamless.
Riverbed works with organisations across nearly all industries including financial services, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing and public sector, and we also work with 95% of the Fortune 100.

How has the company evolved over the last couple of years?
2024 is a huge year for Riverbed. In May, we had a significant launch with the introduction of the Riverbed Platform, our second generation AIOps solution Riverbed IQ 2.0, NPM+ and Aternity Mobile for even greater visibility.
IT teams are overwhelmed with handling IT service issues, and user experience inevitably drops with users waiting for resolution. However, AIOps automates IT issues resolution, leveraging experts how to deal with situations and having automations ready to go for further investigation or executing a remediation. The processing power of AI also means that it can even detect and resolve potential issues before they even happen through spotting trends in IT estate data.
This capability further empowers IT service desk teams. They know that most issues will be resolved autonomously before they impact user experience, allowing the majority of resources to be used on larger, more technical issues that require human expertise, as well as implementing new digital tools that enhance the user experience even more.
What can we hope to see from Riverbed in the future?
We’re very focused on delivering the most comprehensive portfolio of tools that collects data from across the IT landscape, to provide the most comprehensive set of real data in the market. We will continue to push the boundaries of innovation, and with AI being an integral part of automation, we will continue to drive more investment in this area, delivering exceptional solutions to our customers.
