How did your side hustle begin? What inspired you to start it up?

“I met my business partner, Courtney Spritzer, in 2010 through a mutual friend and we started our agency, Socialfly, on the side of our full time jobs. The two of us knocking on doors of small businesses and offering our services soon grew into a full service agency that has worked with over 300 brands. We walked away from our corporate careers in 2012 to focus on Socialfly full-time and really bring our vision to life.”

“We then started Entreprenista because women were reaching out to us every week to grab coffee and pick our brains to learn from our experience. We quickly realised that if we were to get coffee with every Entreprenista that reached out to us we wouldn’t have time to run our businesses. We started to think about how we could help as many women as possible and not just share our story over and over again but share all of the stories of women founders and leaders who have so much insight and advice to share with these women who need it. This is when we decided to start The Entreprenista Podcast in November of 2018. Our podcast has now evolved into a full media company, podcast network and membership community.”

How did you manage your side hustle alongside other work obligations?

“Managing our agency on the side of our full time jobs was difficult, but we were working on something we loved and knew we’d grow one day. It was all worth it!”

What’s come of your side hustle since starting up?

“Socialfly is now a full service agency that has worked with over 300 brands, and Entreprenista has now evolved into a full media company, podcast network and membership community.”

What advice would you give to others looking to start their side hustle?

“Just start! You will figure it all out as you go along. It’s also crucial to get involved in a community like The Entreprenista League that can help you accelerate your business and achieve your dreams!”
