About Ceretone

We identified an opportunity to bring accessible hearing technology to the UK at a pivotal moment for hearing health.

We launched Ceretone in the UK in February 2026, shortly after a significant change in UK legislation allowed adults to access hearing aids without a prescription. This created a new opportunity to make hearing support more accessible and affordable, helping address a system where people often faced spending thousands on private hearing aids or waiting months for NHS treatment.

Around 18 million Britons experience hearing loss or tinnitus, yet cost, complexity and stigma prevent many from seeking support. Ceretone was introduced to tackle these barriers by offering discreet, high-quality, ready-to-wear hearing aids from under £130.

Our mission is to make better hearing accessible to everyone. Hearing loss is linked to dementia, loneliness and social isolation, yet until now affordable solutions have been limited. Ceretone gives people with mild to moderate hearing loss a simple, effective way to take action earlier and stay connected to conversations, relationships and everyday life.

One of the biggest challenges has been awareness. Although legislation opened the door to over-the-counter hearing aids, many consumers remain unaware they now have greater choice. Changing perceptions has been equally important, as hearing aids have long been associated with expensive appointments and complicated fittings. Ceretone removes these barriers with discreet, comfortable devices that are genuinely simple to use. As one customer put it: They were incredibly easy to set up – genuinely idiot-proof!

The technology combines advanced audio processing with industry-recognised components, including an Intricon chipset and Knowles Hi-Fi speaker, improving speech clarity while reducing background noise. Ceretone is also the first over-the-counter hearing aid to receive MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) approval, providing consumers with confidence in its safety, quality and performance.

A major milestone has been securing national retail distribution through Boots, Holland & Barrett, Currys, and soon to be Superdrug, making Ceretone accessible to millions of shoppers while giving credibility to a completely new category of hearing technology. Alongside retail growth, we have worked hard to build trust in the brand, earning editorial coverage in leading national publications including Mens Health, Zest and Yours magazine.

Ceretone is making a meaningful contribution to the HealthTech industry by showing how innovation can remove barriers to essential healthcare. By combining affordability, accessibility and trusted technology, we are helping more people improve their hearing before it impacts their confidence, wellbeing and quality of life.

The future of hearing care is about accessibility, choice and empowering people to act sooner. Ceretone is proud to be leading that change by making high-quality hearing support available to more people across the UK.
