Blaize raises £2.5m for presonalised subscriptions

Blaize, recently announced the closure of a £2.5M seed round, with investment form Pan-European VC, Nauta Capital. Blaize is a London-based SaaS customer experience platform for the subscription economy, turning one-off customers into long-term subscribers.

Blaize is a platform that allows businesses to create and roll-out personalised digital subscriptions. Using Blaize, non-technical teams can an create content using an intuitive, code-free drag-and-drop platform to test and deliver personalised subscriptions journeys.

The platform features IAM (identity and access management), a dynamic CDN (content delivery network) and a data-driven paywall. All this allows brands to quickly create digital subscription offerings, without the need for changes to their technical infrastructure. Blaize boasts that using their platform results in double-digit percentage increases in monthly revenue and renewals for their customers.

Blaize will use the £2.5m investment to expand their team to meet growing demand and to widen their commercial offering in the US.

The platform aims to power a shift toward subscription-based business models. Launched just last year, Blaize is predicted to impact 75% of businesses selling direct to consumers by 2023.

CEO James Henderson said: “The rapid growth of the subscription economy means companies across all industries must transition from static, ‘one-size fits all’ digital journeys to personalised unique experiences for every consumer.

“For media, this need is compounded by a massive decline in advertising revenue. Blaize makes it possible to address these challenges head-on at speed and at scale.”

Carles Ferrer is Nauta Capital’s London-based General Partner and will join Blaize’s board, in an effort to  support the company’s plans for growth. “We believe Blaize is uniquely positioned to be the go-to solution for all subscription businesses; from the media and entertainment industry to e-commerce, finance and enterprise SaaS,” said Ferrer.
