Brewgooder Pledge to Provide 1 Billion Pints of Clean Water

A wave of change: Brewgooder teams up with Charity: Water to provide 1 billion pints of clean water across the developing world.

Brewgooder Beer

This world water day, purpose-driven beer brand Brewgooder is announcing an ambitious pledge to produce 1 billion pints of clean water in the next 3 years as part of a new partnership with Charity: Water – an organisation committed to solving the global water crisis in our lifetime.

Brewgooder first launched five years ago with a mission to brew great beer and empower the lives of others via the funding of clean water projects. The company has since sold over 3 million cans of beer and leveraged a number of partnerships to support more than 140 clean water projects, unlocking over 100m litres of clean water to communities in Malawi.

New Partnership

Through their latest partnership with Charity: Water, every litre of Brewgooder sold over the next 3 years will donate 100 litres of clean water. This means the sale of each individual beer will contribute 100 times its volume in clean water in projects around the world, culminating in a target of 1 billion pints by 2024.

This partnership marks the next step in Brewgooder’s mission, which previously saw efforts focused on projects in Malawi but has now pledged support for a further 21 countries where reliable nationwide access to clean water continues to be a challenge, including Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, India, Kenya and Cambodia amongst others.

In the coming months, the for-purpose beer brand is set to announce a number of craft brewery partnerships and collaborations and is also developing a mobile app that will allow drinkers to more closely track the real world impact of their purchase of Brewgooder beer.

Commenting on the partnership, Hannah Bellamy, MD at Charity Water UK said:

“Here at charity: water, we’re big fans of Brewgooder- the beer, the team, and their passion to do good. Our collaboration will fund sustainable, clean water projects for the 1 in 10 people living without it. And clean water changes everything – education, opportunity, and health – especially for women and children.

“I can’t wait to share stories from communities impacted by Brewgooder, and a growing community of changemakers, who believe in a world where everyone has clean water.”

Alan Mahon, Co-Founder at Brewgooder commented: “Water is the key to life yet there are still hundreds of millions of lives that are dramatically impacted and limited by a lack of access to safe clean water. We’ve always believed that craft beer has the power to unite people and ultimately change the world, so that’s why over the past four years we’ve dedicated our profits to supporting and providing clean water projects in Malawi.

Our work so far has gone a long way in building the foundations of this belief, but I couldn’t be prouder to be joining forces with the incredible team at Charity Water UK who know first hand how crucial access to clean water is and will enable us to directly positively impact lives in a further 21 countries. Together, with the passion and heart of the craft beer community, we will truly kick our mission up a gear so that communities can not just survive, but make radical, transformative steps to thrive.”
