Sitemate, the software scale-up transforming workflows for construction and industrial companies, has announced a £14 million Series A funding round led by Blackbird Ventures, with participation from Shearwater Capital and Marbruck.

The funding will fuel Sitemate’s rapid growth in the UK and EU, enabling the company to double the size of its London-based team in 2025 and meet increasing demand for its no-code platforms across the region.

UK and EU Momentum

The UK and EU have become pivotal markets for Sitemate, driven by macroeconomic trends, infrastructure investment and regulatory requirements such as the UK’s Part L energy efficiency standards and increasing safety management focus. Sitemate’s tools help companies digitise and streamline project and compliance documentation, enabling field workers to capture evidence in real-time and ensure regulatory adherence.

“London was our second office globally, and the UK has been a key market and key revenue driver for us ever since,” said Hartley Pike, Co-founder and CEO of Sitemate. “The similarities in legislative frameworks and built world operations between Australia and the UK made it an obvious choice. Now, with a well-established team, strong leadership under Greg Hughes, and market momentum, we’re scaling rapidly in the region.”

Over the past year, Sitemate has tripled its London team and plans to double it again in 2025. The company is actively hiring for roles in sales, account management, customer success to bolster its UK and EU operations.

Building a Winning Culture

The success of Sitemate’s UK team is underpinned by its vibrant culture, built under the leadership of Greg Hughes, who joined the company two years ago as General Manager for Europe.

“The UK team operates with our “pro sports team mentality” whilst also having its own unique brand amongst our global offices, including a strong affiliation for karaoke. A number of the current UK team joined the company 2-3 years ago and have been with us since there were only a few people in the EU region, and now they are key cultural and performance drivers having been through the ups and downs of the startup journey and come out the other end stronger,” says Pike.

This culture has created an environment where people want to perform and succeed, which is reflected in the momentum we’re seeing in the region.

Growing the UK Team in 2025

Sitemate is gearing up for another major hiring push in 2025, with eight (8) roles slated to go live in Q1, including positions in sales, account management, and customer success. The UK team also has the presence of one of its most senior engineers, Lara, who has been instrumental in enabling local data hosting for UK/EU customers.

“The roles we’re hiring for are critical to scaling our impact in the UK and EU, and we’re excited to add more people to the team, team members who want to be part of a fast-growing company and impactful journey,” says Pike.

Multi-Product SaaS for the Built World

Unlike traditional software providers, Sitemate offers a suite of modular tools tailored to the built world, much like Atlassian does for software engineers. Rather than forcing companies into rigid, all-in-one solutions, Sitemate’s no-code platforms provide flexibility, allowing users to configure workflows to their unique requirements while maintaining ease of use.

“Built world companies are often stuck with clunky systems that push them back to legacy formats like Word, Excel, or even paper,” Pike explained. “Our tools bridge that gap by combining the flexibility of legacy solutions with the power and simplicity of modern no-code software.”

Trusted by Leading EU Organisations

Sitemate’s approach is resonating across the UK and EU, with a customer base that includes ABB, the NHS, Hitachi, The Guinness Partnership, and Lightning Fibre. In 2024 alone, users completed more than 2 million forms, captured 8.5 million photos, and signed 2.85 million electronic signatures using Sitemate’s platforms.

“Bottoms-up adoption is a big part of our success, with field workers driving usage and bringing our software into their companies because it works,” Pike said.

Building the Future of The Built World

Sitemate’s Series A funding comes on the back of extraordinary growth. The company has doubled its global headcount from 70 to 140 employees in the past 12 months and has expanded its reach with offices in London, Vancouver, and Toronto. It also acquired and rebranded Nomad Fleet as Gearbelt, strengthening its product suite to include full stack asset management.

Looking ahead, Sitemate expects the UK and EU to rival Oceania as its largest revenue region within the next 1–2 years, driven by the scale of infrastructure projects and growing demand for digital solutions in industries like construction, rail, energy, and manufacturing.

“We’re thrilled to continue growing our team and empowering built world companies to work smarter and more efficiently,” Pike said. “This funding allows us to double down on product innovation, expand our go-to-market presence, and ensure our customers are equipped to tackle their biggest challenges.”
