About MA Family
We joined forces as partners at MA Family in early 2020, just as COVID-19 began reshaping the world. The pandemic accelerated demand for technology and fueled a boom in software, digital services, and venture funding. Then, the downturn in 2022 brought a sharp focus on profitability, followed by a new wave of ambition around generative AI. We built our agency through these shifts while having the constant goal of helping founders explain their businesses.
Our purpose has remained consistent: make category-defining technology companies impossible to ignore by turning complex products into stories that travel across markets and media. With backgrounds in journalism and venture capital, we understand both how newsrooms work and what founders need at different stages.
Since 2020, we have worked with more than 150 technology companies, from seed-stage startups to private unicorns and publicly traded businesses. Our current and past clients include JetBrains, Miro, WeWork, Brave, Flipper Zero, and Dwelly. We helped these companies build recognition and credibility to support customer growth, recruitment, fundraising, and partnerships.
For Dwelly, which is building an AI operating system for residential lettings, we developed the communications strategy around their $93 million financing and emergence as one of the top 15 UK letting agencies. We anchored this campaign around a Fortune exclusive, followed by coverage in Sifted, EU-Startups, and other technology and property publications. The campaign introduced Dwelly to investors, established credibility with potential acquisition targets, and reached customers across the UK. Co-founder Dan Lifshits credited our team with understanding the realities of building a startup and the importance of narrative and timing.
Our work with Flipper Zero shows how communications can build value over several years. We helped bring a portable tool for hardware exploration and security testing to mainstream technology audiences through product reviews, original news events, and sustained media relationships. The work included recognition in the Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards and communications support during the proposed ban by the Canadian government in 2024. When we secured a TechCrunch profile on Flipper Zero, it prompted Raspberry Pi to approach the company, leading to a partnership on the Video Game Module. In 2025, we also led the unveiling of BUSY Bar, a new product from the same team, securing positive coverage in The Verge, Gizmodo, Tom’s Radar and other publications.
These campaigns perfectly reflect the contribution we want to make to PR and communications. We believe that only by connecting deep product understanding with sustained communications we create opportunities for a business.
