Florence’s free app connects nurses with open shifts primarily in care homes, as well as online training to further their professional development. It helps services find the right staff, and nurses take control of their schedules.
To date in 2022, 100,000 e-learners, 90,000 care professionals and over 2,000 care organisations have signed up to Florence. With 11% of staff in both the NHS and social care permanently leaving the sector in 2021, the need for better ways to keep skilled people in the profession is more urgent than ever.
After increasing revenue fivefold in 2021-22, and a successful launch in Northern Ireland, Florence now serves more than a quarter of social care in the UK and operates across 99% of the country.
In June 2022, Florence raised a £28.5m series B round of funding, which will be used to further product expansion to further support care in the UK and multiple international markets, as well as expand services beyond elderly care.
By using technology to fill care shifts fast, Florence disrupts the traditional, inefficient agency model which is run on phone calls and paper.
The result is care services being properly staffed, quickly, with engaged workers.
