About Tickaroo

For publishers under pressure to rebuild audience loyalty and revenue, live journalism is becoming a product in its own right. Tickaroo is helping publishers make that shift.

Founded in 2011, Tickaroo’s live publishing software platform now supports more than 450 newsrooms worldwide, helping publishers turn breaking news, sport, elections and major events into interactive, multimedia audience experiences while making collaborative coverage easier to produce. Its live blogs generated more than 1.1 billion page views in the past 12 months, while its active customer base has grown 37% in the past year and 69% over the past two years.

Tickaroo is also helping publishers connect live coverage to wider commercial and audience strategies. Der Spiegel reported that 18 of its 20 most-read subscriber articles were Tickaroo live blogs, while RP Online generated more than 100 new subscriptions within hours through live coverage of a local Bundesliga club meeting. During a sponsored Super Bowl live blog, interactive coverage generated more than 4,000 audience responses, a 62% interaction rate and a click-through rate 100 times higher than equivalent embedded article placements.

The platform’s evolution is also reflected in how publishers are embedding live coverage into editorial workflows. The Baltimore Banner has integrated Tickaroo into its existing Arc XP workflow to coordinate reporters, photographers and videographers across major events. During Maryland’s primary elections, more than 50 journalists contributed, while editors connected the live experience with voter guides, results and deeper reporting. The publisher subsequently achieved record subscription conversions from election coverage.

Tickaroo has continued to develop the platform around these changing newsroom needs. Smart Assist uses AI to support editorial tasks such as headlines, captions and data entry, helping teams increase output and reduce manual workload without detracting from the human-led editorial process. New interactive quizzes, Sponsored Blog Posts and Premium Article Posts extend the platform beyond live reporting into audience participation, commercial activation and subscription strategies.

The company is also expanding the role of live publishing across large, distributed organisations. Its syndication tools allow one live blog to run across sister titles, partner sites and multiple publishing channels without duplicating editorial effort, while also supporting collaboration between journalists, contributors and external experts. Mobile workflows allow reporting to happen wherever stories unfold.

Between June 2025 and May 2026, publishers created more than 25,000 live blogs using the platform, with more than 18,600 generating significant audience engagement and over 7.3 million audience interactions. Alongside the 1.1 billion page views generated across the platform over the same period, these figures show both the reach and depth of engagement live publishing can deliver.

The result is a broader vision of what SaaS can deliver for digital media: not simply software that makes publishing faster, but infrastructure that helps publishers create distinctive audience experiences, strengthen reader relationships and connect journalism more directly to sustainable digital revenue.

As media adapts to fragmented attention, changing referral patterns and AI-mediated discovery, Tickaroo is positioning live journalism as an owned-channel experience that gives audiences a reason to engage and return.
