Witco was founded by Eliane Lugassy in 2016. The startup raised $14mn in Series A investment in 2021 and was then able to expand across Europe to deliver a cost-effective solution appropriate for the age of hybrid work and mixed building use.

Witco’s fully customisable white-label technology is used in offices, co-working and co-living spaces, and residential housing for students and seniors. The smart building app centralises all the services offered to occupants to improve the experience of their workplace or living space.

The solution is designed to give users and building managers (e.g. reception, maintenance, security) flexibility and comfort in reporting and resolving any building use issues quickly, from a single app. It empowers users and facilitates communication and transparency for both building managers and landlords in need of better information management.

As asset managers diversify how and when their buildings are used, Witco’s solution gathers real-time data and then relays the key information in an actionable package via a clean user interface.

Witco has expanded its reach through the pandemic, taking on this challenge as buildings have been reformed for mixed use. The company has expanded its range of customisable features to cater for the needs of both residential and professional building users with vastly different timetables and habits. Home life and working patterns have become more complex over the last two years, and Witco has responded by helping to curate a solution that merges all domestic and professional services in one place, drawing on user feedback to guide changes and smoothen out relationships between building owners and users.

Today, the Witco app is being used by 5,000 companies across 200 cities in over 800 buildings. Existing clients include Ivanhoé Cambridge, Amundi, Swiss Life, Guerlain, AXA, BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Witco is committed to helping improve the tenant experience as businesses finalise the details of the return to work. The company looks forward to expanding the scope of its application to cater for emerging needs as businesses innovate new ways of working in 2022, and growing its presence internationally in the next couple of years.
