Reimagining the health experience of the future, Pearly is a Swiss-based direct-to-consumer foodtech, making accessibility of high-quality products more sustainable and efficient.

The startup was founded in 2020 by Uighur entrepreneur Haliba Abliz, inspired by the fruits and vegetables of the Urumqi region and a passion for clean eating.

The founder discovered that many weren’t meeting their nutritional needs, with 90% of Americans not meeting their five-a-day fruit and vegetable requirements, while 92% of millennials used on-the-go-snacks to replace meals. Balanced nutrition appeared to be inconvenient.

Pearly partnered with food technologists and developed a range of organic smoothies, made only from real fruit and vegetables (each smoothie containing the equivalent of 2-3 fruit and vegetable servings). Ingredients for this range is backed by dietary science, each packet made with a balance of superfoods, vitamins and antioxidants that have been selected carefully by a nutritionist.

Pearly smoothies are packaged in easy-to-carry batches and can be made into a 330ml smoothie in just 20 seconds. The ingredients in the smoothie packets is kept intact by freeze-dried technology (also used in space nutrition), helping to reduce waste with a shelf life of over 1 year.

Haliba comments: “I believe that we need to contribute more to healthier lifestyles, as of the current moment, we are still at an early stage in healthy lifestyle adoption, a major part of our societies are looking for healthy alternatives, and I wish that I can help contribute to make lives more healthy with Pearly.”

After their initial Seed Round (from European VC Lian Group), Pearly is focused on expansion in Europe as well as creating additional products.
