About Bloom & Wild

Aron Gelbard founded Bloom & Wild in 2013. The startup uses technology to reimagine the experience of buying and receiving flowers. The letterbox flower delivery company had a vision of creating next-generation gifting, enabling thoughtfulness in the digital age.

Since it’s launch, the startup has seen rapid growth and now operates in Ireland, Germany and France. Deloitte recognised Bloom & Wild as the second-fastest-growing tech company in the UK and the fifth fastest-growing business in Europe. Bloom & Wild is also a member of Tech Nation’s Future Fifty, Bloomberg Business Innovators and City AM’s The Leap.

How Does It Work?

Bloom & Wild flowers can be ordered through their website or the iOS and Android mobile applications. The letterbox bouquets are designed to be posted through the door, meaning no one has to be in for delivery. The stems can then be arranged into a unique bouquet and will bloom within the next couple of days. They also offer a selection of hand-tied pre-arranged bouquets and potted plants. Other products include the lux letterbox flowers and flower subscriptions for three months, six months, a year or ongoing. In season, the company even offers miniature Christmas trees delivered in their classic letterbox-sized boxes, complete with mini-decorations.

Bloom & Wild’s personalisation algorithm displays to customers exactly which bouquet would be suitable to send for the occasion and at the right time, making the ordering process incredibly efficient. They also offer next-day delivery across the UK via Royal Mail, with options for guaranteed next day flower delivery via DPD courier and two day delivery to the Republic of Ireland. They even service on-demand requests through Bloom & Wild Now, a two-hour flower delivery service in London.

Bloom & Wild’s Success

The startup has seen considerable success since its launch. Bloom & Wild is now the top-rated online florist in every market in which it operates: the UK, Germany, France and Ireland. The florist has also raised a total of £21.3M in funding over five rounds. Their latest funding round on 30th September 2018 was lead by Piper and raised £15 million which to propel business growth.

In 2020, Bloom & Wild plans to continue to scale keeping technology at the forefront. The company states: “we’ll continue to choose the right technology solutions to suit the business problems that we are trying to solve. We’re really proud to be the fastest growing online flower company in Europe, and we intend to continue to use our technology as a key enabler to drive our future growth”.
