Luckily, startups are stepping in to help.
How Are Startups Helping People Improve Their Posture?
When there’s a problem to be solved, startups are usually at the forefront of problemsolving.
Today, tons of startups exist to help people improve their posture. They do this through:
Creating new wearable devices that remind people to move and correct their posture throughout the day.
Designing new ergonomic devices that help people sit up straighter or sit in better positions at their desks.
Developing apps that give people exercises and insights to improve their posture daily.
But who are some of the companies pioneering posture tech? Let’s take a look…
Upright
Upright is a small wearable device that sits on a person’s back via a necklace. The device uses sensors to detect when the wearer has been slouching and buzzes to signal for them to sit up straighter.
The technology was developed to help people remember to sit up straight throughout the day, giving them better insights and reminders as they go.
Alongside the device, upright also comes with a free app that gives daily insights into posture as well as suggestions to improve it.
Posture360
Creating an innovative new wearable, Posture360 has created a smart ‘corrector’ shirt that monitors, alerts, and analyses good and bad posture throughout the day.
With long battery life, lightweight design and reminders, it helps people adopt better posture and break bad habits.

The app is all about helping people have more productive activity breaks throughout their working day, helping their body stay active, even if they are sitting down all day.
BetterBack
BetterBack is a lightweight device that makes any chair more ergonomic and according to BetterBack, wearing it for just 15 minutes a day can help improve posture.
The device, which supports the lower back, was featured on Shark Tank and has raised over $3m to help people reduce their back pain from long periods of sitting.
Strack
Strack is another wearable that sits on the back and vibrates every time you slouch. The device is said to help fix posture and train the body to sit up straighter in just 30 days.
By wearing the device on the upper back, it is able to monitor posture throughout the day. This helps the app set reminders, and help people track their progress.
