These Startups And Businesses Create Cancer Tech Solutions For Patients

In recent years, innovative startups and businesses have come about as an effort to develop new cancer tech solutions. These are intended to help patients and improve healthcare outcomes as a whole.

These startups are really working to create tech that can help with early detection and treatment of cancer, for example, making a real difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.

From artificial intelligence in prostate screening to less invasive treatment methods, these solutions are paving the way for more efficient and patient-friendly healthcare services. Here’s a look at some leading startups and businesses creating impactful cancer tech solutions for patients.

Spatially Health

Founded in 2019, Spatially Health provides intelligent decision support and guidance platforms for risk-based organisations that are focused on improving the quality of health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Spatially Health is a female-founded and female-lead team, founded by Hillit Meidar-Alfi, Ph.D., and Adi Segal. Spatially Health is headquartered in Miami, Florida.

The company’s Equity Equaliser PlatformTM helps risk-based entities lower compliance and financial risks while improving the quality of health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Spatially Health is an SDOH expert whose platform ties SDOH factors to health outcomes and costs. The platform’s proprietary models leverage location intelligence and spatial analytics that go beyond ZIP codes and provide granular patient insights at the hyper-local level.

Spatially helps identify and quantify SDOH health barriers at the individual level, guiding decision makers on where and how to allocate resources to maximise positive impact and promote equity.

Noze

Noze is a Canadian-based med-tech startup that has developed a breathalyzer-type device designed to detect and diagnose a variety of diseases including tuberculosis, breast cancer, lung cancer, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol.

As you know, mammograms, blood draws, biopsies, and similar diagnostic tests can be uncomfortable and invasive, not to mention expensive. And that’s not even the worst part. Waiting days for results can be agonising.

But breath-based diagnostics offer real-time results, which helps reduce the spread of disease, identify the need for treatment as early as possible, and improve patient outcomes. Breath screenings are also simple, cost effective, and non-invasive.

Plus, they can be used in any setting — regardless of geographical location — allowing patients in rural and developing areas to have access to the early disease detection usually reserved for large academic health systems in affluent communities.

That’s why the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded Noze a grant to develop the device. It’s exciting to think that health equity is just a breath away!

MOJO Health

MOJO Health is the revolutionary organisation working to educate and empower patients to provide holistic healthcare access to all and change the cancer healing process to not only treat cancer cells but to heal the root causes of disease.

Inspired by Founder and Chief Joy Officer Julie Stevens’ experience pivoting from a devastating Stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis to No Evidence of Disease (NED) in just 9 months, MOJO Health aims to extend every single newly diagnosed cancer patient with the same empowering advantages that propelled Julie’s success to health.

In collaboration with Oscar Sierra (an esteemed cancer specialist, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Registered Herbalist w/ the Am. Herbalists Guild) and a robust 10-person healthcare team, Julie built MOJO Health to equip every patient with the tools, insights, and support they need for a resilient and successful path to life-long wellness.

While the typical journey focuses only on treating cancer using one toolbox, (pharmaceuticals), MOJO Health adds five strategic toolboxes to the mix in addition to pharmaceuticals – diet, lifestyle, botanicals, facilitated healing, and nutraceuticals – for a comprehensive approach to truly healing the individual and fostering overall well-being.

It’s a race against time to achieve NED, which is why MOJO Health’s approach emphasises the importance of using data to predict treatment effectiveness, teaching patients ways to outmaneuver side effects, and ways to advocate and be their own champion.
