About Richard Baker
Richard joined Wattbike towards the end of 2011. He was responsible for setting up the B2B business and, after implementing a successful model for the UK, Richard moved into the role of Sales Director in order to grow globally. The B2B business domestically and internationally grew more than 100% YoY.
Richard later moved into the Commercial Director role. Recognising the need to evolve Wattbike’s product offering and change in both the market dynamics and consumer behaviour, Richard led the marketing and product teams through the creation and launch of the brand’s flagship product the Wattbike Atom, along with the digital development of the Wattbike Hub App, whilst completing a business rebrand.
This led Richard to becoming the Managing Director of Wattbike B2C business before quickly moving to CEO in March 2018. In this role, Richard has secured a £11.5 million investment from leading specialist investor, Piper. Whilst also leading the team through their busiest time when sales surged during the Covid Pandemic, affecting bike lead times and the supply and demand chain, but leading to continued brand growth.
