About Roi Amir
Born in Tel Aviv, Roi started his software engineering education during his service in the Israeli military, where he also began training software engineers himself. After almost seven years in the army, Roi left to join the private sector – a medical imaging startup called Algotec that was later acquired by Kodak.
After Algotec, Roi gained experience across a mixture of technical and business-oriented roles. Roi’s latest role before joining Sprout was Vice President of Engineering at insurtech unicorn Tractable, where he managed a team of around 75 people. As a CEO he is quite unique: as he has both the strategic broad vision as well as detailed technical knowledge of how the AI works exactly and how it could evolve in the insurance industry.
Sprout.ai is a fast-growth technology company, already using AI providing a frictionless insurance claims experience for the customers of major insurance companies across the world, including Zurich. Sprout developed technology using AI – including computer vision, optical character recognition and natural language processing, tailored for the insurance industry. This enables them to understand claims data – often captured in handwritten or scanned documents. The technology can read the contents of individual insurance policies and analyse coverage and conditions, then match and settle the claim.
Sprout is the first to deliver a frictionless, end-to-end automated solution, from the moment a claim is received to the final settlement, as well as reduce the time taken to process claims from an average of 30 days to near real-time. Sprout.ai has raised £10.5 million to date from top tier investors including Octopus Ventures, Playfair Capital and Amadeus Capital Partners.
