About VenueScanner

Described by Forbes as “the Airbnb of venue hire”, VenueScanner is a venue search and booking platform that helps venue hosts generate more bookings and event organisers and businesses looking to get their teams together find better and more affordable venues.

Launched in 2016, VenueScanner is making venue hire affordable and accessible to all, giving event organisers access to the largest database of venues, streamlining the event booking process. They are also giving smaller, independent venues such as coffee shops, pubs, churches, community centres and school halls a platform to better market themselves and access more customers

A platform accessible anytime, anywhere, VenueScanner is used by some of the world’s biggest brands including Facebook, Accenture and Unilever. VenueScanner offers more choice with over 20,000 venues to choose from, it has more venues listed than any of its competitors. It saves time and money as it does not just generate demand for its venues, it helps them manage their pricing structure and enquiries.

Venue Scanner promotes all venue types, it is the only platform that lists all venue types, helping to fill previously under-utilised space. It also caters for all event sizes, providing spaces for every event, every venue, everywhere. It has launched an industry first Tinder style dating app that matches event planners with their perfect venues.

Prior to the pandemic, VenueScanner had grown to become the UK’s largest online booking venue booking platform, was achieving a 573% increase in revenue year on year, had raised £1.8 million in funding and was reaching 1.5 million users globally. However, the business came to a virtual standstill overnight when the pandemic hit and CEO and founder Rebecca Kelly had to make the agonising decision to reduce headcount from 34 to 7.

Since then, she has built the business back up again and has raised an additional £1million in funding, launched in an additional 4 cities across the UK and 1 in Europe, and expanded the business internationally across Europe, Asia and America. In recent months, VenueScanner has increased its headcount from 6 to 22, achieved 60% month on month growth and ensured that it remains the UK’s largest online booking venue booking platform.

Having successfully built the business back up again, VenueScanner has set itself ambitious growth targets for the year ahead which include launching a ‘team offsite’ product for remote and hybrid businesses’ globally.
