Business: Healthy 100% plant-based dairy alternatives that taste “mind-blowingly good”
About Rebel Kitchen
Rebel Kitchen was launched in 2014 and was the brainchild of a foodie couple looking to redefine health food. Starting by working with charities, they wanted to make a bigger impact, faster.
Though the market for plant-based alternatives was already dense, Ben and Tamara Arbib noticed a lack of milk and dairy alternatives that actually tasted like real dairy. They wanted to create plant-based “dairy” products which could actually replicate the original. Their winning formula secured Rebel Kitchen listings in Waitrose, Tesco and Wholefoods. Currently they offer a range of “milks” and milkshakes as well as coconut water.
So far they have grown to a team of over 25 members with annual sales of around £6m across multiple countries. They have expanded beyond the UK and count France, Germany and Australia as some of their key markets. Rebel Kitchen is now worth an estimated £3.5 million. With prices as low as 99p per carton, Rebel Kitchen strives to keep prices competitive and make healthier solutions more affordable.
