The company have received a number of awards since their launch, including the JMP Hot 100 Award, Emergence Capital’s Emergence Award, as well as being placed on the Forbes Cloud 100 List and dubbed a Named Visionary in the 2015 Gartner Web Conferencing Magic Quadrant.

Whilst the company was founded almost a decade ago, and is well recognised for its services, since the coronavirus health crisis, and the subsequent social distancing measures enforced, Zoom has become the go-to platform for people to connect during lockdown. It’s services were initially packaged towards businesses and other organisations, facilitating professional meetings, however, since the 2020 pandemic, many are also using Zoom for virtual social gatherings with friends and family members.

Dubbed by the Guardian as “the latest Silicon Valley gold mine” Zoom has seen astronomical growth since the COVID-19 outbreak, its revenue for 2020’s first fiscal quarter from February to April having more than doubled compared to a year ago, with a profit increase from $198,000 to $27 million.
